Why has the service been created?

School’s may be facing challenges in the post COVID 19, especially with the benchmarking of the current Year 10. Many schools will be looking for guidance on how to best prepare the current Year 10 for next years exams. We intend to support LGfL schools every step of the way.

What is the LGfL Maths Squad?

The LGfL Maths Squad servuce is a team of Maths experts who have been specifically assembled to offer schools valuable maths support in the post COVID maths world and beyond. The range of expertise include teachers, eLearning professionals and assessment experts, including experts who have worked on High Stakes examinations such as GCSE and A-Level.

All LGfL Secondary Schools.

Terms and conditions have been created to ensure that support is equitable across participating schools. You can view these by going to www.mathsquadTC.lgfl.net

How does Maths Squad relate to the LGfL ‘Bridge the divide’ initiative?

The Bridge the divide programme can help schools more able to invest in devices and improve the device per student ratio in their school. Find out more here. There will be specific digital suggestions provided by LGfL for how to help pupils who have not completed sufficient work during the lockdown to help them catch up.

How long is the programme available to LGfL schools?

The LGfL Maths Squad Service is being offered a Pilot to 25 LGfL Secondary Schools during the Academic year 20/21.

This number may vary based on capacity within the Maths Squad team.
