Sophos Intercept X

Provides sophisticated protection for private and sensitive data ensuring schools don’t suffer ransomware attacks or lockouts

LGfL Broadband Schools are given access to licences and the enterprise console for the Sophos endpoint and server antivirus solution that will cover all their devices. LGfL Broadband Schools can activate their FREE service by logging a request via the LGfL Support Site.

Introduction to Sophos Intercept X

Sophos Intercept X (End to End endpoint protection)

To stop the widest range of threats, Sophos Intercept X employs a comprehensive defence-in-depth approach to endpoint protection rather than simply relying on one primary security technique. This is the “the power of the plus” – a combination of leading foundational (traditional) and modern (next-gen) techniques. Intercept X integrates the industry’s top-rated malware detection and exploit protection with built-in endpoint detection and response (EDR).

Sophos Intercept X (Server Protection)

Intercept X for Server offers a comprehensive, defence-in-depth approach using deep learning malware detection, exploit prevention, anti-ransomware technology, application white listing, active adversary protection, and in-depth root cause analysis.

  • Discover and protect workloads on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services

  • Protect against ransomware on servers, including remote attacks from rogue endpoints

  • Server Lockdown whitelists applications

  • Block advanced hacking techniques and exploits

  • Root cause analysis details the cause of attacks and infection path

  • Synchronized Security shares threat, health, and security information across multiple Sophos products

  • Simplified management from Sophos Central

How to Activate your Sophos Licences.

LGfL Broadband Schools can activate their FREE service by logging a request via the LGfL Support Site with the following information:

  • Email address for registration – This must be an address belonging to the school; email addresses belonging to a Third Party Support Organisation cannot be used.

  • Email address for admin access account – This can be the same address as above or one belonging to the person responsible for the deployment. We would recommend that schools managing this themselves create a role-based alias/shared mailbox for this, e.g. sophoscentral@schoolname

  • Number of servers at the school

3rd Party Support Organisation (3PSO) Support and Setup:

3PSO's who will be responsible for the deployment of Sophos Central are advised to set up an account on their company's domain which can be aliased to the schools they support i.e. schoolA@companyname. This address will be used to create the administrative email address to log in to the cloud portal.

Please note that it is not currently possible to manage multiple sites from a single account, although LGfL are working with Sophos to have this implemented. As a result, individual email addresses will be required per school:

  • Number of workstations at the school

  • Number of servers at the school
